Paper bags

H&M shorts
Topshop Neppy tee
H&M blazer (similar here)
Primark sunglasses
Just a quick outfit I threw together to go food shopping and get my hair cut. I'm not too sure what's going on with my hair at the moment. I'm trying to step away from heat a little so only straighten the ends inwards, in a bid to stop them flicking out on my shoulders. I asked my hairdresser Shelley to just trim the ends but a lot more choppy so it's not so straight along the bottom. She did good!

These are the boots that arrived then broke the same day. After an email battle to try and get my money back the seller stopped replying and so I just got the stud repaired. Now they feel as good as new. I'm so weird when it comes to broken things, as soon as something becomes broken or damaged I immediately disassociate myself from it. Dan split red candle wax on our six week old carpet and try as I might to get it out I knew I wouldn't be happy until it was gone. So now I have new boots and a new carpet on the damaged step and so I am a happy Lindsey.

Essie Mint Candy Apple

This is only the second Essie polish I've bought. The first being Turquoise and Caicos which I picked up in LA this time last year when Essie still wasn't available in the UK. If you are familiar with both of these shades you will know they are ridiculously similar. Mint Candy Apple is only a touch lighter and mintier green than Turquoise and Caicos and a much more summery shade. I've been lusting after this shade for ages and I'm so glad I've finally bought it. It's definitely ranked up there in my top 10!

I hadn't experienced the new Essie brush applicators since my last Essie purchase was before the switch up. The new brushes are much wider and fuller than the old ones making applications easier and quicker. You could get away with only one coat of this polish but old habits die hard and I swear by my two minimum.

My next Essie purchase is going to be Fiji. What are your favourite Essie shades?

Princess dresses and tiaras

I quickly realised when it came to choosing which photos to upload after hours of editing them that because the people in most of the photos are still minors it would be wrong of me to upload them. So enjoy a whole post dedicated to my sisters face. Hey Alice!

She had her prom on Friday and I tagged along to get a few snaps of her getting ready and arriving. Nothing fancy, since photographing events isn't really my thing. (I'm so determined to shoot in the manual setting that I spend far to long adjusting my camera settings and miss all the good bits.) For events like this I shoot in auto and absolutely hate it. Photographers, please don't shoot me.

Nonetheless, my sister looked absolutely gorgeous. At least now we know she does scrub up well. I think my Mum is relieved it's all over as well. She'll be pleased to know she's only got two more daughters due a prom. Lucky her!

Grey kimono

H&M kimono
H&M dress
River Island shoes
Primark clutch
Topshop necklace
Topshop & Primark rings
I absolutely adored dancing around my little studio corner of the garden photographing this outfit. The new kimono is definitely a new favourite of mine. It will even carry me into the autumn season because it's not a ridiculous neon colour that makes me look like I've stepped off a plane from Ibiza. Not my scene.

Anyway, I wore this on Tuesday night to a Chinese buffet with Mum's Birmingham family to celebrate her Auntie's 80th birthday. Does that make her my great Auntie? I don't know. But anyway, for an 80 year old, she looks brilliant for her age! I'd show you a picture but I haven't got one. Sorry.

I had a feeling I wanted to wear the kimono with black but wasn't sure what exactly. I never normally gravitate towards all monochrome outfits, but lately I've been really loving it. I tried on a different H&M dress, just a really casual cotton one, then settled for this one. I love the texture of this dress! I can just imagine without it, it would just be so plain.

Dream catch me when I fall

H&M playsuit
Primark cardigan
H&M shoes
H&M & Primark rings
I wasn't going to photograph this outfit since I'd been out running some errands in the day make-up less and couldn't be bothered to apply anything for photos. It's so strange, I'm willing to go out in public without make-up but not on my blog, bizzarre! I decided at about 4 o'clock when I started getting ready to go out that I was going to photograph it and quickly threw on a bit of liner, mascara and blush...classy!

I will start by saying that these shoes are. Absolute. Killers. Like to the point that none of my shoes are currently comfortable because these little buggers have left two blisters the size of a 1p on both ankles. I thought going food shopping and posting parcels would be a long enough wear since I'm still in that breaking in period but boy was I wrong! I wheeled around the whole of Aldi swinging off the trolley to avoid using my feet.

Cast their eyes right to the ground

Topshop shirt*
H&M gilet
I know what your thinking. I can hear you screaming it at the screen: "Fur in June?!". In my defense it was really cloudy all day and then when I stepped outside the sun popped out. I opted for the gilet because it's just a nice change from wearing my leather jacket or denim jacket. And I forgot I owned it until I was moving my coat stand around the house the other day.

I was given this shirt as a gift for my birthday and it's just so pretty! The only gripe I have is the crepe'y material. It's one of those ones that crease even by looking at it. Slight exaggeration there but you know me, I'm picky about my materials and always moaning about them.

I'm off to Birmingham tonight for my Auntie's 80th. We're heading to a Chinese buffet and I cannot wait. Partly for the food but mostly to spend time with my family. I'm not sure what to wear but I'm so desperate to wear my new kimono!
