The Sunday Post: Same Old

I feel like these Sunday posts are becoming just an overload of what I ate and what I bought. Sorry about that. I headed to Birmingham today for a Personal Beauty Shopper appointment with Rose from Mixed Gems, but typical scatty old me got the wrong time and ended up missing it. Needless to say I felt terrible! I managed to find Rose and rearrange but she wouldn't let me leave without a sample of her favourite cleansing balm - the RMK Cleansing Balm.

I lied. I didn't buy either of these bits. The lovely people from the Bullring Blogger event I went to last month gave me a voucher for a name necklace but nobody was there to laser cut it for me today so I decided on a charm necklace instead and the Marc Jacobs perfume was a 'sorry for abandoning you' present from Ma and Pa's holiday.

A trip to Birmingham would not be complete without a stop in Five Guys. Damn I've missed those fries!

The Outtakes

Happy bank holiday! Just a quick fun post today to put a smile on your face (and I didn't bother getting dressed today so there was no outfit to photograph). You'd have thought I'd be comfortable in front of the camera by now but I'm still an awkward bean with an extensive collection of facial expressions. Enjoy!

The Sunday Post: Just a few new bits

I took my new camera for a spin today around Merryhill and I'm so bloomin' impressed with it. I picked up the Sony a5000 mostly for trips and things when my DSLR is just too god damn heavy (many times I've broke my back carrying it round London). We didn't take many pictures but it's fun playing around with it in different settings.

I picked up the Marc Jacobs clutch in the pewter black colour, I'm still desperate for the rose gold colour but I think there's probably only a few floating round in the dark depths of TK Maxx now. Dan bought me All Fired Up from the MAC retro matte lipstick range. I've looked for this so many times and it's always sold out, but Relentlessly Red is very similar if you're looking for it yourself. Lastly, I added a few of the Paperchase postcards to my collection that my lovely friend Amy got me when I left H&M in Telford. I intend (eventually!) on framing them all on the wall in my office. Now all I need are frames.

One of those days

H&M top
ASOS jacket
Primark necklace

Let me give you a tip...before wearing your new mules out in public spend a good week in thick wooly socks around the house breaking them in. It may work, it may not, but it's worth a shot. I wish someone shared this wisdom with me before today...

I've had the day off work today and although I intended on being productive I spent a good portion of the day catching up on the last season of Downton Abbey. I did pick up my new camera though, which is so dainty and light compared to what I'm used to. And I did my Gramps sitting duties and took him food shopping which is when I realised my exhaust is hanging off my car. Joy. It's pushed me to start looking more seriously at a new car, namely a mint green Fiat 500.

Baby Blue

Primark coat (similar here)
Primark jumper (similar here)
H&M skirt (similar here)
Forever21 sunglasses
H&M necklace

Oh sweet Jesus I'm so glad I found this coat, another one to the collection. At least none of them look the same I guess. Pastels in autumn is such a strange concept for me, but I feel like this one looks gorgeous breaking up monochrome outfits. I'm tempted to buy the camel one too, but then I've also spotted a furry jacket on Milly Mackintosh that I really want! Oh goodness, such a dilemma!

Here comes the inevitable

H&M top
H&M skirt
H&M cardigan
Primark necklace

I do sometimes make an effort for work, it just doesn't happen too often. I'm also making the post of bare legs, the thought of wearing tights is unbearable but I know it's inevitable. And lastly (keeping it short today) who loves the horn I've developed in the second to last photo. Ah wind, where would I be without you?
