The Outtakes

Happy bank holiday! Just a quick fun post today to put a smile on your face (and I didn't bother getting dressed today so there was no outfit to photograph). You'd have thought I'd be comfortable in front of the camera by now but I'm still an awkward bean with an extensive collection of facial expressions. Enjoy!

New shoes

from left to right: eBay studded boots, White Converse All Stars, ASOS Revolution boots, Nike Free Run 2, Primark Platform heels

This is quite a bad habit I seem to have going on at the minute. In the space of a month my shoe collection has grown by 5 new pairs. I've obviously justified them all, I mean, I do really need all of them.

I went from having no trainers in my wardrobe to having two. Me, little girly Lindsey, now owns a pair of Converse and a pair of Nikes. The Converse are easily justified as a Christmas present, I don't feel guilty one bit for those. As for the Nikes, I've joined the gym and I didn't exactly have any appropriate footwear beforehand.

The studded boots had been in my eBay watch list for a lifetime and as I slowly got sick of wearing the same pair of flat shoes to work everyday I decided to order these. Now I'm sick of wearing these. Problems, problems. They have been sharing the work load with my ASOS Revolution boots more recently though. I managed to bag these with 20% birthday discount back in January.

The tip of the iceberg caught my eye in Primark last week as I was passing through, in the form of those beautiful platforms. I popped back in on Monday and the lovely chap got me a brand new pair from the stock room. I could have kissed him!

What shoes have you been eyeing up recently?

Meet Boulle

Everybody meet Boulle! The new addition to our little household. I only met him last Monday when I went to pick which one I wanted (there wasn't much choice, both brothers were pure white). I picked him up on Wednesday and our household has been pretty crazy ever since.

So far I've learnt that he doesn't like the hoover or the hairdryer and he has endless amounts of energy. And I mean endless. I even googled how to make a cat sleepy last night because he was on a mad one for about 3 hours. I've also become very good at putting away shoes and bags since he weed in a Primark bag and a gift bag I got from a Company event. No harm done, just 'putting his scent down' as Mum calls it. I did catch him lying in my new handbag earlier but picked him out before any bladder accidents occurred! He's lovely though, such a cheery temperament and judging by the pictures quite a poser.

Leave me lost in my shadow

dress: H&M
blazer: H&M
shoes: ebay
clutch: Primark
rings: H&M and Primark

I wore this cheeky number a few weeks ago for mine and Daniel's valentines date night. We went to a little old police station in Ironbridge that is now an Indian restaurant. Daniel led me to believe the Iron Bridge is lit up at night. He lied. So we took a few outfit photos outside a little sweet shop before we headed home.

I love this little dress for the summer, and since these were taken when we had a few spring-like days, I thought I'd wear it along with my newest boots. They are killer to walk in, but how amazing do they look! Such a great purchase.

Nineteen before twenty

I created this list about March last year after seeing it on another blog. The idea of having things you want to aim to complete before your next birthday seemed kind of cute. I admittedly haven't done everything on my list, and won't deny that some things I didn't even bother trying.

Giving Blood is still something I want to do, but after getting my tattoos I wasn't allowed. I also still want to visit the zoo, and I've got two gigs already planned for this year.

Some things like figure skating and visiting all my friends at university never happened since things took a different path last year to what I expected and I finally flew the nest.

So heres what fun I did have this year...
Do a skydive - and survive! Me and Abi did a skydive in April to raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness. I can honestly say I have never felt more alive that I did that day. Free falling at 120mph and just seeing fields coming towards you is breathtaking.

Since starting my degree, I have had to do more photo shoots anyway, but it has made me a lot more confident. I loved this shoot with Abi in May and this is one thing that has definitely been instilled in me now.

So the idea this year was to get one tattoo. I got my anchor in April, on the anniversary of Titanic's sinking. This is secretly for my Gramp's because he is my favourite man in the whole world, but I don't tell him that, because he'd tell me off. 'Wanderlust' I got on my last day in LA in a little tattoo studio on Melrose Avenue. It's my promise to myself to travel somewhere new every year. This year I'm staying a little closer to home and going to the beautiful Amsterdam.
My trip to LA was by far the highlight of my year. I have the debate with my brother a lot that I don't want to go on holiday to lie by a pool. I want to see the world, I saw the Hollywood sign, the Walk of Fame and I'm so grateful that I went.
My plan to go shopping in London, started out with a little trip to London Fashion Weekend, followed by months yearning to go back. I went back with my Mum and sisters since I promised myself I'd visit the Olympic clock. I went from being a girl who had never been to the capital to a girl who knows thats where I'll be living one day.

20 before 21:
1 - Visit the Harry Potter studios
2 - Give blood
3 - Go to the zoo
4 - Visit a new country
5 - Be better at birthday presents and cards
6 - Make the perfect business cards
7 - Get some work experience or an internship
8 - Go Boris biking in the city
9 - Learn how to use my Diana camera
10 - Reach 500 followers on my blog
11 - Master the art of eyeliner flicks
12 - Get my 'Let it Be' tattoo
13 - Go to a gig...or two
14 - Be more adventurous at cooking
15 - Give my blog a make over
16 - Start making Youtube videos
17 - Visit the Beatles museum
18 - Work harder at university
19 - Get my own little kitten
20 - Be more creative and do more DIY projects

Christmas tag

Q1: What item of clothing do you love to wear in winter but wouldn't be seen wearing in public?

I would have to say my dressing gown. It is the first thing I put on when I get home and the last thing I take off before I climb into bed. Everyone else would probably have a onesie for this purpose but I never really jumped on that hype.

Q2: Most wanted item for autumn/winter?

There are so many things I want this season! The perfect party dress for a start! Along with a black fur coat and a never ending supply of woolly jumpers!

Q3: Favourite boots to wear in the winter?

Normally I like flat ankle boots. Last year I lived in my H&M Chelsea Boots, but this year I've really been getting my wear out of my H&M heels. I was never aware of how comfortable they actually are to wear as everyday footwear.

Q4: Are you a fan of UGG boots?

Most definitely not. I think I had a cheap pair of Primark ones when I was about 14, but never again would they ever come near m wardrobe.

Q5: It's snowing/raining outside, what are you favourite wellies to wear?

I don't own a pair of wellies, but if I did they would be your classic green colour and I'd forever be reaching for them in this British winter time.

Q6: What is your favourite autumn trend?

I love the military trend, although I don't really tend to shop by trend. I shop more for certain pieces that I've been lusting after and that I know will fit in with the rest of my wardrobe

Q7: What is your typical winter day consisting of?

At the moment everyday seems to consist of university or work. And if I'm not doing them then I'm working on my photography projects at home. My typical Christmas Eve would consist of lazing around on the sofa and watching endless cooking programs with Dad.

Q8: Cup of tea, hot chocolate, or coffee?

I like the occasional hot chocolate, especially Costa's festive Honeycomb hot chocolate

Q9: Do you like or dislike that it's starting to get dark?

I love this! It makes it so easier to unwind after work and snuggle up. It also means Christmas is on it's way!

Q10: Christmas is coming, do you have any idea of what you want?

I haven't really asked for anything major this year. I've already had a printer of Mum and Dad and there will still be a million and one things to open Christmas morning. Daniel is getting me a 50mm lens for my Canon, and I'm saving myself for a Macbook Pro so this year I'm pretty much sorted

Summer is dead

I hate pictures of flowers, which is pretty ironic considering I'm showing you a picture of a sunflower I took the other day. I'm currently at my sisters for two nights so I've scheduled this. I was just sat in the garden the other day and the bee was hovering over the flower, so I thought I'd snap it. I love when it gets to this time of year and the flowers start dying off and the leaves turn gold and fall off the trees.

London Calling!

playsuit: Topshop (old)
shoes: Primark
hat: Primark
sunglasses: H&M
watch: Red Herring

Just some snaps of my day out in London yesterday. The weather was gorgeous and there was no more perfect time to be a tourist than three days before the olympics start. I intend on moving to London in a few years so if anyone has any tips, send them my way!

brb, Los Angeles

I'm all packed and ready for two weeks in LA. I've waited six months for this trip and I'm so excited! There are so many things I plan on doing and seeing, but if you have any other recommendations let me know. I might attempt a bit of mobile blogging, or I'll try and get on Sams macbook.
