Food Diary #4

Meal 1
This was more of a brunch than a breakfast. I had such a busy day cleaning I honestly forgot to eat. I had the last of the chocolate chip brioche with chocolate spread, a chopped banana and fromage frais youghurt washed down with a glass of apple juice.
Meal 2
After spending over an hour cleaning my bathroom I grabbed a bowl of my favourite crisps to munch on. These are available from Aldi and are on parr (in my eyes) with Kettle Chips.
Meal 3
For lunch I had tomato and creme fraiche soup with a white bread roll. I didn't really like the soup. Won't be buying that again.
Meal 4
At about ten o'clock, after I'd finished all the ironing I decided to cook lasagne. I couldn't finish this whole meal, I definitely underestimated the size of these little pyrex dishes. I made two and put one in the fridge for Daniel to have the next day.

Food Diary #3

Meal 1
Best of both toast topped with cheese and beans. Washed down with a glass of O.J. Very filling!

Meal 2
A small bowl of pretzels. I've been loving these since Aldi did a little range of American treats the other week.

Meal 3
Yes, I'm the girl who likes plain pasta. I occasionally get a craving for just a bowl of plain pasta, I added a bit of salad too though because of the heat.
Meal 4
I'm having pie again! This time it's meat and potato and I had my much loved homemade mash.

Food Diary #2

I'm really enjoying these food diaries. I'm maybe going to post one a week, otherwise it gets a bit tedious. I mean, my eating habits are a bit tedious but at least it means one day a week I can switch it up. When it's so hot I don't really eat much and on the day I documented I was actually out for most of the day anyway. I should really remember to start carrying snacks with me.
Meal 1
My day started with a bowl of cheerios and milk with a dashing of sugar. Washed down with a glass of apple juice.
Meal 2
Mid morning snacking tends to get forgotten about when I'm on the move and lunch was grabbed quickly at Mum's. A cheese wholemeal sandwhich with cheese curls (quite a healthy choice of crisps).
Meal 3
I ended up munching on the left over prawn crackers from Mum and Dad's chinese the night before. I don't even like prawns but I love prawn crackers!
Meal 4
A late dinner for me and Daniel after busy days. I cooked one of Aldi's family pies with chips and peas. I normally opt for mash or sweet potato but our water was off due to a burst pipe so I had no water to boil them.

Food Diary #1

Before we get into this I just want to start by saying that I am by no means a food expert. I don't count calories and I can't read the back of food packages. I'm not here to tell you what you should or shouldn't eat, this is simply what I like to eat. Maybe I eat too much, maybe I eat too little but in my bid to eat healthier I thought I would start documenting my eating habits from time to time.
Meal 1
Cheesy scrambled egg on best of both bread with a glass of Forest fruits. One of my favourite breakfasts.
Meal 2
Baked potato filled with cheese and bacon with a side of lettuce and cucumber. In a bid to use up the bacon before it went off I cut it up and added it to my usual baked potato and cheese lunch.
Meal 3
Aldi's answer to Kettle chips. These are so yummy. I allow myself a small bowl of these because if I sit there with the bag I will eat them all.
Meal 4
Fizzy cherry cola bottles. I was getting far too worked up redesigning my blog I opted for another sweet treat to keep me going until Daniel got home.
Meal 5
Bangers and mash with peas. A nice change from a pasta dish that me and Daniel seem to live on. Homemade mash is the only kind of mash that is acceptable.
Meal 6
Salted popcorn. I always like a little something to munch whilst me and Daniel watch an episode of Game of Thrones before bed. I didn't end up eating all these though because they got left in the microwave too long and burnt.

Non-alcoholic Pimms

I hope you hear me out on this one and don't just accuse me of creating disgusting concoctions before closing your browser. I would also like to clear up that I am not a recovering alcoholic and am therefore restricted to drinks of the non-alcoholic kind. I like a trip to a cocktail bar as much as the next person, but I just couldn't resist trying this when I heard about it.

I filled the glass half full with ice, added two teaspoons of balsamic vinegar (but apparently any vinegar is fine) and topped it up with lemonade. I guess it's to your own preference what measures you use though, if you want it to be more like cream soda and sweet use less vinegar, if you want it to be more like a glass of Pimms add more vinegar.

This is a new favourite of mine, perfect for barbecues and garden days. The science behind it is that lemonade on it's own doesn't quench your thirst because of all the sugar in it, but this does because of the added sour note. Clever eh!
