Park Life

Photography & styling: Lindsey Pritchard
Model: Emiley Pritchard
Hair & makeup: Becky John

My first shoot for my major project at university. This was an initial shoot that we just kind of went for. I'm still struggling with a theme to carry me across the whole academic year but this is the sort of stuff I'm enjoying creating at the moment. Leave me some feedback, good or bad! I appreciate it all.

Week #39

Pretty lock screen | Favourite lipstick | Flexible Boulle | Poorly puss cat | Chinese style chicken curry | Mum's singer sewing machine | Behind the scenes from todays shoot

What a hectic week! It's been my first week back at university, which I've been in everyday for picking up assignment briefs and planning shoots. I'm determined to keep on top of my work load much better this year since it's my final year so I did my first shoot today in the park with my little sister modeling. It was great fun. I've got a full day booked in the studio on Tuesday so I'll definitely be sharing my creations on here a lot over the next few weeks.

I've had a sad little weekend after my little Boulle ended up in the vets on Friday afternoon. The silly little puss was playing or eating (I'm still not sure) with my lilies in the morning. Me and Dan had a good laugh at him having a yellow moustache and I was filling my Mum in about his antics on Facebook when the lady I had Boo off messaged me to say lilies are poisonous to cats. I, at this point was frantic, and my bus ride home was the longest ever. He was fine when I got home, but the vets insisted I take him in any. They were setting up a drip for his arrival and put him on it straight away. Me and Mum both left in tears, but I've spoke to the vets since and they said he's being very mischievous which sounds very much like him. I'm hoping he'll be home tomorrow, I miss him curled up next to me so much!

H&M Conscious

For as long as I've worked at H&M, (which is coming up to a crazy 3 years in November!) They have always boasted about their environmentally friendly actions. Their recent campaign which started earlier this year and is currently one of the main focuses, is one which everyone can get involved in. All you need to do is have a wardrobe clear out and take your bag of clothes to your local H&M.

In exchange for a bag of your old tats, you will be given a £5 off voucher when you spend £30 or more. I remember when I was first told about the campaign and thought how rare it is that I spend £30 in one go in store. That's why I'm sharing this now. Let's face it you'll be lucky to get a good winter coat for under £30 so at least this way you'll get £5 off that. I picked up this lovely blazer style coat which is £34.99, but believe me, there are so many more to choose from in store. There's a beautiful natural white fur one which is £39.99 - that one is next on my list.

So what are you waiting for! Make a bee line for you wardrobe before the cold weather really sets in!

Week #38

Bicycle shopping | Crepes in France | Missing puss cat | Sunday night mean Downton Abbey

I guess this week is what you'd call 'back to reality'. I had my induction for my final year at university and boy was it a smack in the face. All I heard all day was how "This time next year you'll be a graduate" and 'This year will fly by". In my head I try planning when I will do my project work, when I will blog and when I will fit in house work with all of that. Help me!

In other news this week, I went to look at bikes with Daniel for my 21st. I've been toying with the idea of a bike for ages since my car failed it's MOT this year. I hardly drive my car and when I do it's only short trips that would take the same time on a bicycle. Imagine what I'd save in petrol! The particular bike I've got my eye on is the Victoria Pendleton Somerby which is available from Halfords. Perfect right?

Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm

Out of all my French purchases I wanted to share this one first. When I got back from France my lips were so dry and sun damaged (I slipped up on the first day and skipped the SPF on my lips). The sudden drop in temperature when I got home didn't help the healing process but this little pot of magic has.

I've been trying to save it for special occasions since I don't know when my next trip across the channel will be, but needless to say this hasn't left my bedside table. Partly because it's in a glass jar which makes it so much more luxurious, but also a swipe in the morning during my make up routine and the same at night before bed is doing the trick perfectly.

I can see why some people wouldn't like the scent, but personally honey and I think maybe a hint of lemon is a hit. I also love the grittiness, you only need a small amount because the formula is quite thick but hey, it'll last so much longer not having to reapply all the time.

Week #37

Killer Mondays for puss cat | Tuesday nights | Day & night | Our living room | Bird cage decor | Teapot cocktails | Could drink these all day!

I've had such a peaceful week. I managed to bag a weekend off work so yesterday me and Dan spent the day having a bit of a autumn spring clean of our wardrobes. Let's just say our upstairs is messier than when we started but hey we both freed up a lot of space. Today we went to Shrewsbury for a birthday lunch for Dan's step mum's birthday. Followed by a few cocktails - in teapots - around the corner at The Libertine. Beats working I guess!

My little puss cat has had a traumatic week. He's been on four car journeys in total and didn't poo during any, which quite frankly is a big deal (lots of Dreamies for him!) He had a little op on Friday to castrate him and was told he'd probably be drowsy when he woke up and wouldn't even notice any difference. Well trust me to end up with the one cat that's a little bugger and runs wild after his op and ends up having to wear one of the lamp shade collars because he wouldn't leave his rear end alone.

A sneak peak into our living room.

This is possibly my favourite room in our house, apart from our bedroom. Oh, and my office. I still want some wall art putting up and I'm scouring Etsy endlessy looking for lovely print. I also want some nice throws to hide the ugly sofas that we're hoping to replace in the next year or two (I fancy a nice corner one).

The only problem I seem to be facing is the colour scheme. I originally went with cream when I bought the curtains from Primark, but then when it came to cushions - which are from Matalan by the way, I thought 'Oh, mint and coral will look nice'. Then I used the cushions that used to be on my bed to pair with the chevron ones and so theres a bit of a coral, cream, mint and black love affair going on in our living room. Any suggestions or pretty homeware you've seen online let me know!

All our furniture, sofas, coffee table and TV stand are all from Ikea. I still want the Expedit shelving unit too but it's just finding somewhere to put it in here. Maybe I'll have to wait for that corner sofa.

My coffee table is often scattered with the same stuff in the photos. The sweet jars I like to fill with sweets so people get a nice treat when they come round, normally my sisters spot them first. I'm forever burning the yankee candle oils in my oil burner, my current scent is Sugared Vanilla and I also keep a stash of magazines underneath.

I couldn't finish without mentioning our house phone. It's my Mum's from about 20 years ago and it's still got peoples names that she's written next to the speed dial buttons. I love the personal touch and how retro it looks and would hate to replace it with a "modern" phone.

Go large or go home

Primark shoes
New Look and Matalan necklace
Primark clutch
H&M necklace
Topshop socks
Topshop and Primark rings

I apologise for this being quite so image heavy but I couldn't decide whether to do my daytime look today and then my nighttime look tomorrow, but decided to just throw them all in the mix together. This isn't the dressiest of dresses I know, but I when I was looking for something to wear to a family party I wanted something that would take me into Autumn as well. I'm so in love with the oversized style I'm tempted to get the yellow version too.

For day time I wore my studded flats and leather jacket. I stacked a few long pendant necklaces together because for some reason they just seem more casual than a short statement necklace. Weird I know. I obviously chose to carry my giant H&M handbag complete with faux fur fox tail. Duh.

To spice it up for the evening I wore my gold chunky necklace which is a recent favourite from H&M, along with my much loved Chelsea boots and sparkly socks. I used my Primark studded clutch because lets face it who wants to carry a suitcase around at night.

I hope you like this style of outfit post, let me know which outfit is your favourite and if you'd like to see more!
