Favourite necklaces

Necklace 1, 2 and 5: Primark
Necklace 3 and 4: H&M

Sometimes an accessory is the missing piece that completes an outfit. I personally find myself reaching for necklaces over any other type of accessory. I find them fuss free and much more of a statement than rings or earrings.

What's your favourite type of statement accessory?

The Classic White Button Down

H&M bag
Primark shoes
Primark necklace

I've been looking for the perfect white shirt for a while, they're one of those things that are a wardrobe essential but you can spend ages finding the perfect one for you. All things considering, I think I may just have found the one. I tried one on in H&M that was only £7.99, it seemed like the perfect floaty material but was just far too see through. This one was double the price but a much better quality and fit. I like that it has a metal stud rather that a button, and that the material is a bit stiffer but not too fitted. For only £14.99, it wasn't a bad purchase.

The Sunday Post: Things I like to do on a Sunday

It's no secret that Sunday is my favourite day of the week. They always feel more relaxed, but at the same time productive, here's some ways I like to spend them.

1. Read. At the moment it's the A Song of Ice and Fire series.
2. Write up a to do list for the week ahead.
3. Dust a few rooms, I'm never quite productive enough to do them all.
4. Catch up on my favourite shows.
5. Go out for breakfast with Dan, we often end up in Bella Italia.
6. Change the bedding.
7. Take photos for the blog.
8. Go for Sunday lunch at my family or Dan's.
9. Plan my outfits for the week ahead.
10. Spend a little time perusing the internet, most likely I'll be watching Youtube videos or looking at apartments in New York.

Nothing special

H&M jumper
Topshop Jamie jeans
Missguided coat
H&M hat
Primark shoes
H&M necklace

This is what Sunday dressing looks like for me. The kind of Sunday when I only intend on leaving the house for Sunday dinner at my families or Dan's. I realised that Spring is fast approaching (at least I've got it into my head it is) and I'd never actually shared this jumper I got from H&M way back in the Autumn. I've got a grey one too and they've served me well this winter. The white one has got a few pulls on it - visual merchandiser woes - but they're still my favourite to throw on whilst the days are a little chilly.

The Sunday Post: Updates

Happy belated Valentines day. I came home to a beautiful bouquet of red roses on Friday evening, I hope you felt just as special single or loved up. We're also going to see Sam Smith in Paris in June as a sort of Valentines not surprise (Dan's rubbish at them!). I cannot wait, I've been pinning like crazy on Pinterest and putting together a list of things I want to do, the obvious stuff of course but places off the beaten track I find to be more magical. If you have any recommendations then let me know.

I'm getting my hair snipped tomorrow, so I decided to give my long locks one last Sunday afternoon photoshoot. It's a little drastic I know but I always like to look back at how my hair changes. I can't quite decide what length I want to go, I'm torn between only having a few inches off and going with a long bob. I guess we'll see how I'm feeling tomorrow!

Finally, Dan's friend has given me a copy of Final Cut Pro so we're hopefully going to start making videos. I definitely want to do a spring lookbook so keep your little eyeballs peeled over the coming month or so (give us chance to get our head round editing). If there's any videos you'd like to see let me know that too.

Too early for sunglasses?

H&M skirt
H&M jacket
H&M scarf
New Look backpack (similar here)
Primark necklace
Primark sunglasses

Sunglasses! Would you believe it?! It was a beautiful day in Birmingham yesterday and I picked these up in Primark for £1 and couldn't resist whipping them out for these snaps, maybe a little premature but you know how excited I am for spring. Sometimes I feel like that one accessory can make a whole outfit though. Nobody wants to see the dark circles that have claimed squatters rights under my eyes.

The Sunday Post: Change in the Air

Another Sunday. Another week closer to Spring. Not that I'm wishing my life away, I can just sense those tiny changes in the air and it gets me all excited. The light when I leave work, the daffodil's that are starting to pop up and the sunshine, I can feel the warmth from it again. It makes me a little giddy with excitement.

I tweeted this morning that we were going to Birmingham but knowing me I'd come back with nothing. I did pick up some gems, nothing massive though, keep an eye out on Instagram (elegantcha0s) I'll probably share tomorrow. We went to Ed's Diner for lunch, I can't even describe the joy their bacon and cheese fries bring me, we were well and truly stuffed by the time we headed for the train. We also shot some photos of what I wore today, but I'll save them for another day.

Hope you've had a lovely day. Let me know what you've been up to.

Short girl problems

Just scraping into the 5ft tall club often poses a few problems. I thought I'd share a few of them here. Leave me a little comment if you can relate to any of these!

1. Midi dresses are practically maxi dresses and high waisted jeans just about reach your armpits.

2. Ripped jeans are great, until you pull them on to find the rips sit halfway down your shins.

3. You have to be at least 5'4 to be a princess at Disney World. There goes that career move then.

4. The kick stools at work should just be surgically attached to you because EVERYTHING is too high.

5. Having to have the drivers seat pulled as far forward as possible just to reach the pedals.

6. Anything remotely 'oversized' looks like a potato sack on you.

7. Most kids in school uniform are taller and generally look older than you.

8. You almost drown in swimming pools expecting to touch the bottom, only to find that the bottom is still a few feet below.

9. Supermarkets become a game of rock climbing, especially to reach the boxes of cat food. That or spend 10 minutes hunting for an assistant to help.

10. Buying standing tickets for concerts is just pointless.

I Never Met a Stripe I Didn't Like

H&M dress
Primark coat
H&M necklace

It's become quite apparent that I'm a bit of a sucker for stripes. It's kind of like an unofficial visual merchandisers uniform. This little striped number ended up in my wardrobe as soon as I saw it. I've got three dresses in the same fit as these ones and they're all size 16. Needless to say H&M sizes blow my mind.
