What I bought: February

I've noticed I've started to move away from H&M, I'm not keen on their latest Divided range, although the Hennes collection is gorgeous. I bought the black vest in a size 14 because I wanted it to be a baggier fit.
These black lace up boots have been sat in my eBay watch list for ages, so when I was having a browse and they'd been reduced I snapped them up straight away. It worked out about £16 including P+P.
Originally I picked up two of these Veet Hair Minimising Moisturiser, but put one back on the shelf incase I wasn't impressed. It's safe to say I was and I'll definitely be repurchasing this. I know it's not the most glamorous thing to talk about but it definitely makes my hair thinner between shaves.
This black mask was bought for a photo shoot that took place in a graveyard a few weeks ago. When I've uploaded and edited the photos I'll definitely share them with you!
We all know I love my Topshop Leigh jeans. Daniel bought me a new black pair for Valentines day. Still a big recommendation of mine.
Since planning my holiday I've decided I'm going to get fit. Joining the gym is a no-go for me, I think it's a rip off, so for £5.00 I ordered this out of the Avon and every morning before my shower I'm doing a little cardio.
I had a pair of socks for my birthday that I was never going to wear. Since I hate things going to waste I thought I'd pop in Primark and change that one pair for these two pairs of beauties.

I need to seriously spice up this feature, if I had a camera that recorded I'd do a video, but I'm currently saving for my holiday. I just don't think it's very interesting. If you have any ideas let me know!

Don't forget to breath

"I am a strong person, but from time to time I need someone to
take my hand and tell me everything will be alright"
Sometimes we all let things get on top of us and the only thing we want to do is stop everything and cry. This is definitely how I've been feeling lately. I achieved so much and saw so much more of the world than ever before in 2012 that it changed me, for the better.

Lately, my grades at university were not what I wanted. They weren't bad, but I'm a perfectionist and expect nothing less of myself than the best. My essay then went missing so I didn't get a grade at all and I was ready to sack it all in there and then. My Grandad was having tests for prostate cancer. These came back positive. And well, the weather. Don't get me started on that.

The house I was living in was vile. I always knew I was house proud but seriously, there comes a point when you can't keep cleaning up after somebody, no matter how much of a friend they are. I'm not going into detail because it would be ridiculously embarrassing on her part. You wouldn't believe what some girls are like! I guess 'fight or flight' would explain the situation I found myself in. Did I stay for the last month of my contract and sit it out, or leave? I chose the latter, mostly because I think the situation was making me ill. So with the help of my amazing boyfriend, his family and mine, I left yesterday.

I got the lost essay mark back and got a First. My Grandad's cancer treatment is under control - with the help of my Mum keeping an eye on him. I realised last week on a sunny coach ride back from a gallery, with my music blasting in my ears, that everything is going to be alright. I can't believe I thought about giving up my degree. Photography is my passion and has been since I can remember.

So although we all face those hard times just remember, the sun will come out and life will be okay. I feel a lot more calm and relaxed than I did two weeks ago. So keep smiling, and don't forget to breath. That's the crucial part.

Week #8

Between lectures spent reading blogs // Caught in the Crossfire exhibition
Sunshine on the coach home // Coming up in the next few months
Walking home in the cold // Testing out BarryM textured polish
Frozen grapes // Sorting out my jewellery
Friday afternoon spent watching Perks // Doritos and Hummus snack time

After spending the week at Mum and Dad's playing with my niece and nephew I just couldn't bear to go home. I will explain more in tomorrows post but I took a few trips this week to pick up my stuff then moved the rest today. It's so lovely being back with my family for a few weeks before me and Daniel move in together.

I took a trip to Coventry on Tuesday to visit a gallery exhibition Caught in the Crossfire. It was so interesting seeing how different artists respond to conflicts from the past and present. If you're in the Coventry area I'd definitely recommend popping in as it's on until 7th July.

I hope you've all had a lovely week and enjoy the last week of February. Not long until the sun will be coming out.

Feeling electric tonight

jeans: H&M
top: Topshop
cardigan: Primark
shoes: New Look
bag: ebay
hat: Topshop
necklace: Primark
belt: H&M
nails: American Apparel L'Esprit and Avon Silver Plated

Well Spring finally sprung...for about three days. I pulled this outfit together just to dash into town to run a few errands. One thing I hate about these jeans is the lack of elasticity in them. You sit down, stand up and you've got a serious case of baggy knees. Not a good luck.

I got Daniel to take these photos for me because getting my tripod out sometimes is just too much effort. I must say I was impressed. I think every blogger needs to get herself a boyfriend who knows his way around a camera. I'll definitely be making the most of him when we finally move in together next month.

I've decided to dabble my hand in the world of Pinterest. Yes, that's another form of social network for you to follow me on. I've just really got into the whole inspiration boards lately and think they're great. You can find me by clicking here.

Week #7

My MAC essentials // Pancakes topped with syrup and sugar
Outfit planning // March edition of Company - so pretty!
Valentines flowers // New Topshop Leigh's from my Valentine
My evening skincare routine // Outfit snippets
Chicken burger feast // Date night outfits at the ready
Starters // Now an Indian restaurant
Very creepy shoot location // My favourite most beautiful model
Enjoying his chocolate cake a little too much

I've had the kick up my bum I needed regarding university work this week. I sorted out the essay that got lost and I was extremely happy with the grade, and I've caught up on work I missed from being on placement. I've even done two shoots today. One of me and Daniel and one of Ada in a graveyard. I'll share those when I've sorted through them all.

I got spoiled rotten on Valentines day! Daniel arrived promptly before I left for university with a giant bouquet of roses then as I arrived home I was greeted with a new pair black Topshop Leigh jeans which I can't ever rave about enough. We went to the Pondicherry for a gorgeous meal on Saturday night. It used to be a Police Station which is pretty obvious, especially in the toilets.

My sister is visiting for the week with my niece and nephew. I've decided to stay at Mum's for the week so I get some proper Auntie time with them. Normally it's just a couple of hours here and there which just isn't enough!

Give me your hand and I'll hold it

blazer: H&M
top: H&M
skirt: Topshop
boots: H&M
necklace: Topshop
nails: American Apparel L'Esprit and Avon Silver Plated

I'm less than happy with how these photos turned out. I struggle with getting my face to focus with my 50mm lens. Any suggestions would be brilliant!

It was somewhat of a mild day today, compared to the rest of the week so I settled for just my blazer whilst taking a little trip to the shops with Mum. Considering 48 hours ago there was a blizzard I think I'm pretty brave. The weather just makes me want to hibernate in the house, but then at the same time I can't bear to go back to photographing my outfits inside. Maybe I need a new feature, on cold in-the-house days I might start doing food posts.

I've mixed a lot of old with new here. The Topshop skirt is about 4 years old, the blazer I picked up last year for London Fashion Weekend and the top I bought a few weeks ago from H&M. The colour and fit of the blazer is my all time favourite, enough to make me buy it in two other colours. I really want spring to come now so I can pack away my winter coats and just wear light little jackets.
