Stay a bit longer

dress: H&M
jacket: New Look
hat: Topshop
boots: H&M
socks: Topshop
necklace: Primark
rings: H&M
lips: MAC Morange

I uploaded these photos about 20 minutes ago, then got side tracked looking on the Ikea website. They are so good at making everything desirable, and convincing us our homes could look like theirs. Sneaky devils! I was meant to take a trip today but Mum changed her mind, so my new bedding quest is on hold.

Today is a day for new things. New dress, that I picked up in H&M last week, the same as my lacy white one, but for some reason the blue one was shouting at me too. Also new lipstick, which was surprising a lot more orange when I actually applied it. It quickly grew on me though, thank god! Else that would have been a waste of £14! It was also a day for new nails, I took Mum to the nail bar to get herself a set of acrylics and to get mine filled in. I have since painted them Model's Own Beach Party from the Hedonist range, and then realised there seems to be a slightly orange theme to today aswell...

Waiting to rise

dress: H&M
cardigan: Primark
jacket: Primark
bag: Ebay
boots: H&M
socks: Topshop
headband: Primark
sunglasses: H&M

It's been a lazy day for me, just pottering round the house doing various jobs I'd been putting off because of university work. I'm now tucked up on the sofa with Daniel, watching Sex and the City. I'm got lots planned tomorrow, including getting my nails done and taking a trip to Ikea on my quest for the perfect bedroom

I love this dress, even though it is possibly the most shapeless thing I own. Paired with a jacket, you can't notice how much it resembles a paper sack. H&M have taken to creating burgundy dresses with contrasting black collars. Not that I'm complaining.

I kept my accessories quite simple with just the spiked headband - which I am in love with, and my little sparkly socks that I picked up on Oxford Street. I just wanted to add that the sunglasses were completely necessary - that winter sun can be dangerous!

We can make believe

top: Topshop
skirt: H&M
jacket: Primark
boots: H&M
snood: Primark
necklace: Topshop
ring: ebay

I'm officially free for a week from university! My essay and sketchbook were both handed in this morning and I've since wandered round the house quite aimlessly not knowing what to do with myself. Tomorrow I'll start tackling my to-do list which includes all sorts of things from cleaning my mirror to looking for an internship.

I like the simplicity of this outfit, when I put it on, it felt like it had a bit of a school uniform element to it because of the colours. I've been leaning more towards Topshop's basics department since I always borrowed Abi's grey vest, I love the looser fit and I've now got my eye on a white one too.

I'm loving my new necklace Daniel got me for my birthday, a statement necklace really makes a difference to an outfit as a whole, especially one as basic as this.

Week #2

Fresh new brush set // Statement necklace from Topshop
Cute little vintage sweet jars // Test shots with Sam
A corner of my room // Kitty cuddles with Frankie
Date night at the cinema - amazing film! // Meal for two.

It's been a quiet week on Instagram for me, mainly because I've spent my week sat in my office writing an essay that's due in tomorrow. I seem to have taken a few different photos of things in my room this week, maybe I should do a whole post full of the pretty things in my room. I've always had this thing that my bedroom is the perfect reflection of a person and I can't deal with it being all mismatched. Does anybody else have this issue? Like you have to stick to certain colour schemes and themes?

I was young and unafraid

top: H&M
skirt & belt: Primark
jacket: ebay
boots: Primark
bag: Primark
watch: Red Herring
rings: Primark, Accessorise, H&M

I fell in love with this skirt months ago, but kept putting off getting it. I gave up hope of buying it when they didn't have my size left in my Telford store, then whilst visiting the library at university I decided to check the Primark there and voila, my size, and reduced to £7! I paired it with my mint chiffon top, because my favourite love affair is mint and burgundy. I just love how the material flows, and that I look about two feet taller!

I went to see Les Miserable earlier today, and if you haven't already raced to the cinema for opening day, I seriously recommend you going. It was such an amazing film, and my hat goes of to Tom Hooper for taking it from stage to screen in such a beautiful manner. The cast were amazing, every single one of them.

Nineteen before twenty

I created this list about March last year after seeing it on another blog. The idea of having things you want to aim to complete before your next birthday seemed kind of cute. I admittedly haven't done everything on my list, and won't deny that some things I didn't even bother trying.

Giving Blood is still something I want to do, but after getting my tattoos I wasn't allowed. I also still want to visit the zoo, and I've got two gigs already planned for this year.

Some things like figure skating and visiting all my friends at university never happened since things took a different path last year to what I expected and I finally flew the nest.

So heres what fun I did have this year...
Do a skydive - and survive! Me and Abi did a skydive in April to raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness. I can honestly say I have never felt more alive that I did that day. Free falling at 120mph and just seeing fields coming towards you is breathtaking.

Since starting my degree, I have had to do more photo shoots anyway, but it has made me a lot more confident. I loved this shoot with Abi in May and this is one thing that has definitely been instilled in me now.

So the idea this year was to get one tattoo. I got my anchor in April, on the anniversary of Titanic's sinking. This is secretly for my Gramp's because he is my favourite man in the whole world, but I don't tell him that, because he'd tell me off. 'Wanderlust' I got on my last day in LA in a little tattoo studio on Melrose Avenue. It's my promise to myself to travel somewhere new every year. This year I'm staying a little closer to home and going to the beautiful Amsterdam.
My trip to LA was by far the highlight of my year. I have the debate with my brother a lot that I don't want to go on holiday to lie by a pool. I want to see the world, I saw the Hollywood sign, the Walk of Fame and I'm so grateful that I went.
My plan to go shopping in London, started out with a little trip to London Fashion Weekend, followed by months yearning to go back. I went back with my Mum and sisters since I promised myself I'd visit the Olympic clock. I went from being a girl who had never been to the capital to a girl who knows thats where I'll be living one day.

20 before 21:
1 - Visit the Harry Potter studios
2 - Give blood
3 - Go to the zoo
4 - Visit a new country
5 - Be better at birthday presents and cards
6 - Make the perfect business cards

Take this slow

shirt: Primark
skirt: H&M
boots: H&M
socks: Topshop
headband: Primark
necklace: Matalan
rings: H&M
nails: H&M Taupe

I'd just like to start by making a mental note to myself to stop with this whole frilly socks and boots thing. I look like I've escaped from a play group. I take it back. It's my favourite trend at the moment, so much so that I have gained 6 more pairs of frilly socks to my collection in less than a week.

I've had quite a productive day essay writing and sketchbook making for projects due in next Monday. I will never learn. Ever. But at least I have a busy week ahead of me with no time to spare, that's just how I like it. I set a target of 600 words on my essay today and I left it about an hour ago at 609. I wouldn't know what else to type even if I was still sat doing it now. Stupid questions.

I wore this last week for my birthday meal with my girls to Cosmo. I never quite liked the length of this skirt, I always thought it was too long on me, but since getting my little heeled boots, it's become one on my favourites. I guess that's part of growing up, knowing when something gets that little bit too inappropriate. I have plenty of skirts on the edge of being too inappropriate these days.
