On the uptown

How dreamy is this autumn outfit? I hate wearing the same outfit twice so always try to mix things up with different combinations of tops, jackets and shoes. This one turned out perfect. Although I picked up the shorts in LA in the height of summer, the colour works so well in my winter wardrobe, and my leopard print coat I almost forgot I owned!

I tried out my middle parting yesterday for the first time since getting a full fringe cut in August. I miss my middle parting, hair care was so much less fuss back then, but I think it's still too short to wear just yet without it looking like I belong in a boy band from the 90's.

My friend Sam has started a blog that I wanted to share with you. It's more of a lifestyle blog than anything else. Since he moved to London for his degree he has been reviewing various venues around the big smoke, so if you're ever in town, his blog may come in handy.

Let's play dress up. #1

My Contemporary Photographic Practice project is based on the idea of escapism and fantasy within fashion photography. So with inspiration from the likes of Tim Walker and Annie Leibovitz, I took to the woods to shoot a girl I used to have dance lessons with. I'm not crazy about what I created, I think I could do much better. The quality isn't great and I definitely want to plan something a lot more elaborate next time.

I would really appreciate your comments and opinions as I need feedback for sketchbook purposes. From now on I am going to start uploading my work for my degree on to here, just so it gets showcased a little more. Everything degree related will be labeled under 'UNIVERSITY' and 'PHOTOS'.

Behind your Broadway show

According to the weather forecast it's supposed to be dropping in temperature now, so I thought this playsuit I bought for LA was a bold choice in terms of warmness, but with my fur stole and leather jacket, it hasn't actually been too bad.

I tried on the Lasting Finish Matte by Kate Moss in #107. I instagram'ed the lipstick last week because it looks like the perfect winter shade and since then I've been lusting after it, but considering my lipstick collection is already so large I held off. After trying it, I realised it was extremely similar to the Avon one I am wearing above, except that the Avon one is very glossy.

The only way is up

I thought the colour of these jeans might be a bit much for this time of year, but paired with my leather sleeved jacket, it seemed to tone down the fluorescence of them. My statement spiked necklace seems to look good with everything lately, and my little leopard print bag is the only one I tend to use, alongside my pink Primark one.

I had a presentation at university today about the key artists I will look at for my contemporary project. I got the impression most of the portrait and landscape photographers turned their noses up at the idea of fashion photography. I also had my first hand in. It was only my proposal and is only 10% of my overall grade for my Studio Strategies projects but it's still the best feeling handing work in.
