I'm ready for you

Missguided coat
H&M bag (similar here)
H&M scarf
H&M boots

I'm definitely ready for sunshine and blue skies, I'll even settle for a bit of cloud as long as there's no rain and I don't have to worry about my hair sticking to my lips. A lazy Sunday trip to the cinema (we went to see Taken 3. Liam Neeson - need I say more) called for comfort dressing and what better than a little leather dress. I remember trying this on in Topshop in Gibraltar and being completely put off by the fact I was that hot and sticky I almost got stuck in it in the fitting room, now I'd shave my eyebrows off to not have to wear a thick coat and tights everyday.

The Sunday Post: I'm feeling 22

I must say I had a smashing birthday, and the best decision I made was booking the whole week off work. I've been out for family meals, ice skating, shopping in Birmingham and rounded the week off with cocktails and dancing last night. Back to work tomorrow.

I was spoilt rotten on my birthday, Mum and Dad bought me a ticket to see Olly Murs in April, Dan bought me an Olivia Burton watch and my sisters bought me a pandora ring. Not to mention all the money from family members that made a beeline for my savings account for my trip to New York later this year. I didn't take many photos (too busy having fun!).

Blue

Primark necklace

Ah my pretty powder blue jumper. I bought this on a whim as an exchange for a skirt on an out of date receipt and I don't regret a thing. I've worn it so much over the last few weeks. In fact, same goes for the skirt. At first I couldn't quite come round to the white skirt, black tights combo, but I warmed to the idea when I realised I'd be very limited on the months I could wear it without tights considering I live in England.

A letter to my fourteen year old self

Dear me,
Let's start by saying Happy Birthday! In all honesty I can't even remember my fourteenth birthday, but I'm sure whatever you did it was great. You're 22 today and still scared shitless about your future because you still don't know what you want to do, but you'll get there in the end. In a few years you'll fall in love with New York City and never quite shake that off. But why should you? I've become the dreamer in the Pritchard family, and i'll be damned if we don't chase those dreams!

Promise to always be yourself, even if it means you are a bit of a loner. You don't need a Jane Norman carrier bag for your PE kit or Topshop 'school trousers' just to fit in with everyone else. I know you like your own company and you'll still be that way at 22, but that's totally okay. You've got your family and you're happy so that's all that matters. People will always have their opinions of you no matter who you are and what you do.

The difference between me and you is confidence. You're quiet and find certain groups in school intimidating, but you'll come into your own eventually. Just don't forget to use your fists if you need to - people still won't believe you ended up in a fight in the PE changing rooms. Nowadays though, you'll happily take to the dance floor on our own even if you look like a fool.

Oh and one last thing, never settle for being second best when you know you deserve to be first. Life is far too short to spend time with people who suck the happiness out of you.

The Sunday Post: Some goals for 2015

A new year is such a lovely feeling. Having new diaries and calendars to fill is all very exciting and although I'm not one for the whole 'new year, new me' nonsense it is still a great time to set some new goals for the upcoming year. Here's a few things I want to do this year, nothing major, I like to set achievable goals:

Visit a new country An essential for me every year. Last year I visited the Canary Islands and Gibraltar. The first I hardly left the poolside but the latter I fell in love with. It's so important to me to see the world, I just can't quite say for definite where I'm going to end up this year.

Stay in shape Notice this says 'stay in shape' not 'get in shape'. I've been working out 3-4 times a week since December. No it's not been long but something clicked in me finally and I realised change doesn't happen overnight. I've been slowly making changes to my diet too, which is the harder part for me. It's all about educating yourself, which is something I've been working on lately.

Keep on reading There's nothing quite like tucking your nose into a good book and I've still got the majority of the A Song of Ice and Fire series to catch up on. If you have any other recommendations let me know!

Tidy house, tidy mind I feel so content when the house is clean and tidy, and yes although I don't want to waste my twenties cleaning floors I still don't want to live in a pig sty. I'm going to make a conscious effort to atleast tidy and clean one room everyday when I get home from work.

My Carrie Skirt

H&M skirt
H&M striped top (similar here)
Primark shoes
Primark bag
H&M necklace

I just love this skirt so much, it's about 4 years old now but I always try to reinvent it with a different top and different shoes. I did feel a little like Carrie Bradshaw circa season six when she's running around Paris on her own. Oh a girl can dream.
