My kinda onesie

playsuit: Primark
jacket: ebay
fur stole: H&M
bag: ebay
shoes: H&M
necklace: H&M
watch: Red Herring
rings: Primark
nails: Mavala Elle Grey and Avon Silver Plated

I may have misled you with the title, I wouldn't be seen dead in a onesie, yet this jumpsuit always makes me feel like I've left the house and forget to get dressed. I added my new mustard flats and black tote bag to shake it up since the last time I wore it. I also added my favourite fur stole, which I'm tempted to also get in black.

I finally finished semester one at university! So I treated myself by getting acrylic nails. I'm sick of having horrible flaky nails so these are my new addiction. I've had so many compliments at work today about the colour, and I think I disappointed most customers when they learn it was a freebie from Elle magazine.

I also reached 100 followers. So happy! It's only a small milestone, but i'm so happy. Thank you everyone who checks in on my blog. You don't realise how much I appreciate it.

Site and Spatiality: City Traces

This post takes a bit of a different approach to my usual, but I wanted to share these with you and hopefully get some feedback. I took these for my Site and Spatiality: City Traces project. I don't get overly excited looking at these, or any of the photos from the project for that matter, it's just not the type of photography I'm interested in.

These represent the traces left by humans in their local area. I was surprised by how many trolleys I came across when I was actually looking for that sort of thing (some people are so lazy!) Everything is untouched by me, I simply went up to it and photographed it in the surroundings in which I found it.

Week #50

Our first joint Christmas card // Jamie's Italian in Birmingham
Monday afternoon cocktails // Birmingham's Rudolph
Barry M and Avon nails // Finally finished the tree
Two of my 50% off purchases // Online purchases
Prints from a day in the darkroom // My first exhibition
This scarf looks so lovely on // Treats at work

I'm taking 10 minutes out of my precious sketchbook making time to post this, and I mean precious, I have a deadline Tuesday and one on Thursday. I've concluded I work best under pressure though so straight after this i'm back to my glue stick and scissors.

Aside from university work, it has been a pretty relaxed week. I went Christmas shopping in Birmingham with Daniel on Monday, where we paid Jamie's Italian a visit. I spent Tuesday and Wednesday in the B&W dark room, printing for my Site and Spatiality project. Needless to say I have fallen back in love with B&W photography.

On Friday I went to university for the opening of my groups exhibition based on the idea of freedom and control. The three images I used can also be seen here.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Those of you who actually know me, know that Christmas is my all time favourite time of year. It gets to about August and I have to watch the Grinch to satisfy my craving for all things cold and twinkly. These are some of Christmas'y things to get up to over the festive season to get you in the mood, especially the more "Scroogey" species among us.

Visit a Winter Wonderland - I've seen many places this year advertising outdoor ice rinks. Hyde Park goes one step further and has a full on Winter Wonderland including a circus, observation wheel and ice sculptures. Somerset House and the Natural History Museum also have pop up rinks.

Make Christmas cookies - What better way to wind down in the evening than baking some christmas cookies and decorating them with all the trimmings.

Create the perfect Christmas playlist - You either like Christmas songs or you don't. I personally love them and love being reunited with my favourites around this time of year. My current favourite is Coldplay - Christmas Lights.

Go Christmas shopping in a beautiful city - This year I'm going Christmas shopping in Birmingham. I hear you all shout 'Birmingham? Beautiful?' But this time of year it's so lovely to just soak up the atmosphere and the pretty decorations somewhere with a little more hustle and bustle than my little town.

Wrap up in a festive jumper and watch Christmas films - Once my projects have been handed in at university and all my Christmas shopping is done, the only thing left to do is sit down, watch as many films as the TV guide has to offer and countdown to the big man coming. My jumper in the photos is from Primark's menswear section, it is on loan from Daniel well over a month now!

Visit a Christmas market - The Frankfurt Christmas Market hits Birmingham every year and it has become tradition to visit. It is now the biggest in the country so it gets very busy, but it's so worth it to see all the cute wooden huts and handmade toys, along with traditional German food and drink.
